Description
Gastrodia (tian ma) and uncaria (gou teng) are the primary herbs that calm liver wind and relieve tension, dizziness, and spasms. Gardenia (zhi zi) and Chinese skullcap (huang qin) clear excess heat from the upper body. Tonifying herbs like eucommia (du zhong), loranthus (sang ji sheng), and dong quai (dang gui) support the liver and kidneys while nourishing the blood to restore grounding.
This classical formula is especially helpful when yin deficiency allows heat to rise unchecked, causing upward-rushing sensations, blurred vision, or tension in the head and limbs. The inclusion of oyster shell supports calming, anchoring, and heart spirit stability.
